Photo Journaling
When some people think photo journaling,
they immediately think scrapbooking. Well, we would like to
make the two categories "cousins", though not always
the same creature.
Photo journaling is more about the photographs
themselves, and the stories behind the people. Perhaps less
in the "creative", "artsy" presentation,
photo journals are more pictures and descriptive words. Something
like a National Geographic article. Often older, vintage scrapbook
offer clean cut pictures, arranged neatly with that classic
white pen writing below to offer information about the photographs.
However, it need not be simply a vintage
skill. With today's digital camera advancements, you can photo-journal
your day to day life without costing an arm and leg in processing
fees! The can be organized and presented on a CD through a word
processing or page layout program, or they can even be published
on your own website. There is no limit to the creative possibilities
of photo journaling.
Here are some
thoughts to get you started in Photo Journaling.
Be sure to back up your files, and photo
creations if you are working with digital imagry and page layout
software. Remember too, if you are working with software, that
software may become obsolete, so be careful to keep your files
updated to the latest software advancements if you can.
Handle vintage photograph albums with great
care and avoid fingerprints on the photos. If these genealogical
treasures are to last several lifetimes, we all must be careful
with them.
Create a website and offer your own photo
journal of your life! You might even get a following!!!
