Daily Journaling
Daily journaling is really what we call keeping
a diary. The differences between keeping a diary and keeping
a journal has more to to do the contents of either. In a journal,
you tend to dig deep into the soul to find answers to perplexing
questions or to clarify your thoughts about where you are in
life and where you hope to go. A daily journal (Diary) is a
great way to record the day's events. A virtual catalog of where
you were at specific times in history. Regardless, feel free
to be as reflective as you wish, the roads through our minds
are endless.
Here are some
thoughts to get you started in Daily Journaling.
- Start a Family Journal. Record the days
events as they happen, perhaps more as bullet points and facts,
adding in business cards or contact information of things that
happen. It can be very helpful to determine when someone was
sick to determine frequency of say, a ear ache or nose bleeds,
or to help you in a legal aspects, to know the date of a conversation
with a contractor or when you had a fender bender in the parking
lot!
- Daily journal need not be dry and boring,
all the time! If something strikes your fancy, write about it.
There is a very famous diary of a Colonial Midwife that has
basic information as well as poems and writings, thoughts and
ideas that give us a wonderful insight in her life and those
of the people around her.
